The anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 is celebrated annually on the day of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, on March 25, which symbolizes the announcement of the liberation of the human race, due to the event of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but and the liberation of the Greeks from the shackles of slavery. The fight of the Greeks took place, as the Agonists of 1821 confessed, “for Christ’s faith the holy and the fatherland’s freedom“. It is therefore not only about a National Anniversary, but about the coupling, separation, common path and undisturbed unity of Hellenism and Orthodoxy.
